Port of Par Alfred and Judy visiting Tanfield Railway 2009 Gala

Little History on the Pair br/Alferd 3058 of 1953 and Judy 2572 of 1937 are two unusually low four-wheel saddle tank railway steam locomotives. They were built by W.G Bagnall for use at Par harbour in Cornwall, United Kingdom. The unusual design was required to cope with some extremely tight curves, and a very low bridge under the Cornish Main Line. The locomotives are both preserved in operational condition on the nearby Bodmin and Wenford Railway and inspired the Rev. W. Awdry to include them in The Railway Series of children's books.br/Alfred and Judy were a big hit at the Lengends of Industry Gala.
